Online and Email Threats.

Today is day 2 of our security week and we are going to focus on Online and Email Threats; this is the fourth week of our seven week campaign, highlighting our services. Next week we will be looking at Managed Antivirus; which is a vital piece of our Managed Services Software.

The most popular places that threats come from are online and via email. If you receive an email from USPS stating that they have your tracking number attached it is human to think “did I order something?” and click on the attachment to see what it was and the next thing you know you have downloaded the Cryptowall virus and your entire computer is locked down. With employees browsing the internet and sending and receiving personal emails from their work emails the risk of your network being hacked is increased greatly. With our Managed Services Software we can apply time-based browsing rules and web content filtering policies across a wide range of website categories, helping to reduce non-work related browsing such as social networking, auctions, games and more. Your employees will stay productive with common-sense web browsing policies designed for the workplace. There are settings in place to protect the business from legal liability and reduce the risk of a security breach through proactive internet access controls. With these restrictions in place during the work day it allows you as the boss to have peace of mind about your employees going to a website they are not supposed to be on during working hours.

If you have had issues with online or email threats please let us know and we can put the proper precautions in place to keep your business safe and your employees on track. Look for tomorrows post on the Effect Security has on Small Businesses.
